Review / Opinions:
The V.Reader made the 10th day of Christmas because I love to read as do my wife and children. The V.Reader is an awesome tool to help kids learn to read!
The thing I love most about the V. Reader is the Story Dictionary. My youngest is always asking what words mean while she is reading. With V. Reader, when a child stumbles upon a word they do not know, they can just click on the integrated dictionary.
When my oldest daughter was learning how to read, she never asked what the word meant or how to pronounce it. Back then I didn’t think much of it but there are still words she pronounces incorrectly. She is 15… see the problem? I really think it is because she just pronounced the word how she saw fit and she has pronounced it that way for so long it is normal for her.
As a father of 4, I have realized that children (or at least mine) learn better when they are doing something they enjoy. The interactive V.Reader makes learning fun. The screen is bright and they can read to their favorites like Dora, Scooby, or Cinderella.
Pros:
Great way for kids to learn to read. Reasonably priced.
Cons:
The V.Reader takes 4 AA batteries which drain rather quickly. A lithium rechargeable battery option would be great!. I use rechargeable AA which I would highly recommend if you purchase this product. Otherwise you will spend a small fortune for batteries.
