I don’t know about you, but football season is may favorite time of the year. Football has always been apart of my life. As a wee lad my dad would take me to see the Redskins games (#httr). That’s when I started to fall in love with the sport. I even played football in middle and high school. Then, I was lucky enough to marry into a family filled with fanatics of NCAA football. So my wife is a fan as well!! She grew up in the South so we follow the SEC and especially Alabama. I thought I was an enthusiastic fan, but my wife’s family takes cheering for their team to a whole new level LOL. It’s true when they say the people in Alabama bleed crimson.
So every week before the game, my family has their own “tailgating” like traditions. We toss the ball around in the backyard. We gather with friends, bbq our favorite football foods, and of course dress in the proper game day attire. We always have a great time even though we aren’t technically tailgating at Bryant-Denny stadium.
Of course, in South Texas, even in the fall, it’s rather hot especially when you are grilling. It can be easily in the high 80’s and like my coach told me in high school… “the best offense is a good defense”. So I rely on my Dove Men + Care, my Degree deodorant, and Axe body spray to help beat the heat. Well, the Axe is because Mrs. CD likes it and I have to keep her happy! Besides even thought football is a manly sport doesn’t mean you have to…. well smell foul and chase of the ladies.
