I will be the first to admit that I do not eat breakfast like I should. In fact, I usually just down 5 or 6 cups of coffee and call it a day. LOL However, Mrs. Coupon Dad got tired of my complaining about how tired I was around 2 pm… So she, started presenting me with a different kind of breakfast in a cup…. A Carnation Breakfast Essentials… a complete nutritional drink.  I like the Classic Vanilla flavor. It has been my breakfast of champions for many, many years now.  My daughter Amber, is just like me… she isn’t a morning person so when mom is mixing up the Carnation Essentials for breakfast… she makes two. While I enjoy mine in front of my keyboard, Amber enjoys her at the bus stop. My son Ethan, always drinks the chocolate flavored one before football practice. The Carnation gives him just the boost he nees to get through practice and to the dinner table.  As a family, our favorite thing is making smoothies with the Carnation Breakfast Essentials… our favorite:

Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter smoothie
1 package of rich milk chocolate Carnation Essentials
3/4 c. milk (I use Almond milk, the rest of the family 2%)
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1 frozen banana (just peel ripe banana and freeze)

If you you are looking to cut calories and sugar… no worries Carnation Breakfast Essentials (in the blue box) has no added sugar and is only 150 calories! NICE

Also, in my family, we LOVE chocolate… open our freezer and you will always find a freezer full of chocolate. (or “hiding” inMrs Coupon Dad’s night stand LOL)  Since I am trying to work on my waist line, I love that I can still enjoy our chocolate with out an overload of calories… enter Skinny Cow Chocolate candies!!

My favorite, Milk Chocolate Dreamy Clusters. Only 120 calories… I can have my chocolate without feeling guilty… Now if I could only convince Murphy it is Skinny Cow not Skinny Dog… No chocolate for the doggie… Murphy is now depressed!
