5 Reasons Why Shopping Online Saves You More!
Let’s face it nowadays you can buy everything online. From cars to caskets and everything in between, it can be bought with a few clicks of the mouse! It’s no secret that Zack and I are proponents of online shopping. Sure, that’s how we make our living, but our whole philosophy is about saving our uber awesome readers the most on their purchases! Saving money is our way of life!! Anywho, here is a list of the 5 reasons why online shopping saves you more!
What’s the old saying… time is money? Well it’s true. In our busy lives time is a hot commodity. Time is the one thing none of us have exorbitant amounts of. Just think of the time you save by not waiting in lines, sitting in traffic, or wandering around the parking lot looking for a parking space that isn’t in the back 40! Shopping online saves you time because there in no waiting in line or sitting in traffic. Plus, there is the added advantage of being able to shop when it is convenient for you. No need to worry about what time the store closes.
At the time of this writing, gas prices are pretty low. It’s been a long time since gas was under $3 per gallon. However, starting the car and driving to the store costs money. It is 7 miles to the nearest mall in my area. Now my car gets pretty good gas mileage at 24 mpg in the city. It will cost me $1.75 in gas just to drive to the store and back home. When you can shop online and utilize free shipping you not only save on gas money, but on the over all maintenance of your vehicle. Retailers like Bloomingdale’s
3. Shopping online cost retailers less.
Think about it. Shopping online saves retailers money too. Traditional “brick and mortar” stores cost a bundle. A distribution center cost a lot less than having multiple retail locations. The retailer is saving money on the building, utilities, and inventory by providing an e-commerce option. Lower overhead for the retailer means lower prices for you! Have you ever noticed that some retailers will have sales online but not in store? This is because it cost less for the retailer and they pass the savings on to you!
Keeping your sanity will save you a ton! As a mother of 4 children, I know first hand how difficult it is to lug small children in and out of the car and into the store… and Lord help us all if it’s something the parent needs for herself . There is nothing like bra shopping with 4 toddlers in tow!! Then, there is the whole keeping the kids happy while trying to shop for the items on your list. Then there are the stores (you know who you are) that never have enough carts for the amount of shoppers or don’t have carts at all. Let’s face it, the cart is what helps us parents wrangle the kids while shopping! Then there are parents like us that have teenagers. The last thing a teenager wants to do is shop with their mommy. My kids prefer shopping online. I prefer it because I would rather have the conversation of why a 15 year old needs to dress modestly in the comforts of my own home. You can insert eye rolls here to get the full effect of this! Keeping your sanity saves you money. Whether it be on your wine budget or your therapy budget, sanity saves!
Having a variety saves you money. “How so?”, you ask. Well, first having a variety of stores to shop keeps prices down. Retailers have to compete for your business so they have to do their best to offer the best prices. Not only variety in the aspect of retailers to choose, but also there are always more options of specific styles, sizes, and colors online. It goes back to that whole overhead thing I was talking about in #3. Retailers are able to offer you more choices online. For example, my son is 6’6″ tall at 16. He is growing like a weed. He wears a size 15 shoes and in jeans he is a size 32×38. You NEVER find those sizes on a shelf in a store. Online is our only option.
So there you have it. 5 reasons why shopping online saves you money!
